where do we begin?

I'm making another record, and I thought it would be a nice exercise to share not just the final product of my labors but also the processes behind such an undertaking, my thoughts and feelings along the way.

I began this project at a former residence, nearly two months ago. I put together fragments, sections of potential tunes, for a couple of weeks and then weeded out the pieces I felt could be developed further.

I wrote flute parts for a friend of mine and was able to record them before she split for another semester in New York.

I have since moved back to Northridge and written vocal melodies and lyrics, which I am presently recording--in fact, we'll get a young lady in the lab tomorrow morning.
